About us…

The O.M1 Foundation (Out of Many, ONE) was founded by Dilsia Victoria Mejia, an immigration paralegal and community advocate who has spent years supporting immigrant families through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

After witnessing countless families lose their stability when a loved one — often the head of the household — was detained, deported, or placed in removal proceedings, Dilsia saw a deep injustice:

When a family loses their primary provider, there is no safety net.
No government support.
No benefits.
No emergency assistance.

Children are left without food, rent falls behind, mothers face impossible choices, and families crumble overnight — all because of an immigration system that offers no protection or compassion for those left behind.

Dilsia created the O.M1 Foundation because she refused to let these families suffer alone.

DONATE

Every day, immigrant families are forced to navigate unimaginable challenges:

  • A detained parent

  • A deported provider

  • Children suddenly without support

  • Moms trying to survive with no income

  • Families unable to afford legal guidance

  • No access to food stamps, Medicaid, or unemployment

  • Rent, utilities, and basic needs unmet

  • Trauma and fear affecting entire households

Dilsia saw the pain behind every case — the tears, the desperation, the fear of not knowing what will happen tomorrow. She understood that these families needed more than legal help.

They needed humanity.
They needed resources.
They needed someone to stand with them.

And so, the O.M1 Foundation was born.

I created this foundation because I could no longer sit back and watch our families collapse after losing the person who held everything together. Our immigrant community works so hard, contributes so much, and yet receives nothing in return when tragedy hits.

O.M1 exists so no family is left alone in their darkest moment.

Out of many, we come together as ONE.
